TRIPS
stands for TRansport,
International Postal System and is
the latest software to complement the PTC’s
range of IPS products.
It enables airlines
and other mail carriers to exchange EDI
information with Posts equipped with
IPS.
The application was developed to optimise
the international mail during its
transit between Posts.
The following features are
included in TRIPS:
Extensive
flight management, with
scheduled flights, their commercial
numbers, allotments, daily stretches,
etc.
Electronic
Data Interchange (EDI):
Receiving a CARDIT (the message
send from a Post to an airline
or other carrier to explain what
should be done with the mail),
and answering with a RESDIT (the
message from the carrier to the
Post to explain what has actually
been done with the mail.)
Possibility
to generate
UPU standard consignment documents
if mail is re-sorted
Possibility
to automatically
allocate mail according
to pre-defined rules
Tracking
and Tracing of items
Possibility
to interface
with other systems, such
as airport systems with updated
flight information, invoicing
systems, etc.
Handling
of military and company mail
The
advantages of TRIPS include:
It
is easy to automate
EDI exchanges between TRIPS and
a system such as IPS to
ensure that both the postal administration
and the airline improve their
tracking and therefore the end-to-end
quality of service
TRIPS
respects UPU standards
With
regular
updates included in maintenance
fees, TRIPS ensures new features
and it follows the evolution of
UPU regulations and postal exchanges
