The International Financial System application (IFS) is a software application developed by the PTC to help Posts replace their traditional paper money order services with electronic money order services. . IFS uses electronic data interchange (EDI) to send international money order data electronically, using sophisticated data encryption techniques to ensure the integrity of the data sent over the postal network. IFS also helps Posts provide electronic domestic money orders services.
IFS is a complete management tool that responds perfectly to the needs of Posts in the electronic transfer of money orders especially at a time when the money transfer market is becoming increasingly competitive.
IFS is typically installed at the Posts premises. However, for Posts with low to medium international money order volumes and who do not wish to maintain IFS application infrastructure, the PTC offers a “Light” version of IFS.
The IFS Light application infrastructure is hosted by the PTC and Posts only have to access the Web interface, via the Internet, to perform daily operational tasks of money order purchases, cancellations, reimbursements and payments.
IFS Light has a wide range of functions, including:
Money order data collection, such as registration of any processing up to the final payment, reimbursement or cancellation of the transaction
Tracking and tracing of individual transactions or groups of transactions
Money order service monitoring and production of statistics
Quality control measurements
Production of UPU standard international accounting documents
IFS Light is only accessible via a Virtual Private Network (VPN) and requires a security USB key token issued by the PTC to perform client-side signatures.
IFS Light is currently available in Arabic, English, French, Russian and Spanish.
The basic requirements for implementing IFS Light are:
An internet browser with internet connection
Adobe Portable Document reader software (PDF) for viewing and printing receipts and documents
VPN client software and USB key token (provided by the PTC)
